Smyth Recruitment is delighted to partner with an innovative client to recruit an ambitious Operations Manager to lead the launch and growth of a cutting-edge Technical Training Academy in the Republic of Ireland, while supporting the continued development of their established academy in Northern Ireland.
This is far more than a traditional operations role. It’s a rare opportunity to take ownership of a high-impact training business, drive commercial growth, build strategic partnerships, and carve out a genuine pathway to Director level through performance and results.
Key responsibilities include:
✔ Leading the establishment and day-to-day management of the ROI Training Academy
✔ Supporting operational oversight of the NI academy
✔ Driving business development and client acquisition
✔ Building strong partnerships across industry, academia and government bodies
✔ Ensuring excellence across quality, compliance and training delivery
✔ Managing scheduling, resources and operational performance
✔ Recruiting, leading and developing high-performing teams
✔ Representing the organisation at key industry events and networking forums
The ideal candidate will have:
🔹 ONC / HNC / Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Technical Operations or related discipline
🔹 5+ years’ experience in operations leadership, technical training, engineering services or similar
🔹 Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in business development
🔹 Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
🔹 The ability to lead teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
🔹 Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel across ROI and NI
⚡ Experience in HV/LV electrical systems is advantageous, but not essential.
