Overview
My client is a leading Facilities Management Service Provider and are looking to appoint a Project Engineer for an immediate start.
The role in a nutshell:
Reporting to the contract manager, you will have the responsibility for the safety, technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling activities of the identified projects.
You will also serve as technical support for the operations team and have responsibility for leading & supporting multiple projects at various stages from inception to completion.
Main duties include:
- Managing vendor relationships with a sound understanding of standard practices in project management.
- Support the operations team with any technical queries.
- Demonstrate performance in foreseeing potential obstacles and resolving highly critical issues within organization while maintaining rigorous adherence to project timelines and costs
- Visit client site on an ad-hoc basis to bridge gap in technical knowledge between client and operations team.
- Support the operations team with interpreting technician reports and supplier quotes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client requirements and ensure all equipment is commissioned and handed over correctly.
- Organise training and deliver to Client on key projects post implementation.
- Manage and ensure all drawings and associated project programmes are issued and up to date.
- Support project delivery, ensuring on time & to budget, meeting the client’s quality standards, and expected functionality.
- Establish and manage quality measures and procedures in conjunction with the Company to enable two-way communication, ensuring feedback and continuous improvement is achieved.
- Maintain all project documentation in order as per client standards and best practice.
- Ensure safe systems of work are in place for all operations by managing and addressing the Health & Safety requirements of each function.
- Effective sourcing and utilisation of materials and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site audits to ensure that the specified standard of work is maintained, and all site logs and documentation are kept up to date.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- 4-5yrs previous experience working in a similar role.
- Ability to bridge any gap in technical knowledge between internal team and client essential.
- Third level engineering qualification or equivalent
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Must possess a dynamic approach to achieving continuous improvement.
- Must be self-motivated and able to motivate others.
- Flexible with ability to adapt to changing environment.
- Managing projects in a regulated environment preferred
